Hello, our names are Keith and Karen Bishop. We created this site to educate, support, and minister to those who have lost children due to tubal pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal or infant death. If you are here, we assume that you have lost a child or know someone who is going through this tragedy.
In October, 1996, we lost our son Matthew Kyle Bishop to stillbirth at 38 weeks. We went through a lot of the same feelings that you are probably going through now- a sense of loss, a longing to know “Why?”, a feeling that no one else understands your pain.
Through that experience, we found a renewed closeness to each other, a profound knowledge of the healing power of God, and a strong desire to help others going through the same pain that we experienced. We began a local ministry to reach out to those suffering through these circumstances to let them know that they are not alone, that there is comfort to be found even in their despair. We have been blessed to be able to work with local hospitals, distributing books to parents going through this loss and ministering personally with many people.
However, we also felt the need to reach out to those who we could not personally meet. Since we found the Internet a strong source of information and support during our time of need, we decided to develop HelpLoss.com as a starting point for others to guide them toward sites that we feel are quality resources of information, support, and guidance.
We also hope that you will seek personal help in dealing with your loss, either through a trusted friend, a Pastor, or a support group. You will probably find, as we did, that the people who best understand your loss are those who have been there.
We hope that you will find our site of value to you and we welcome any feedback on how we can make the site better.
